How long does shipping take?
Orders are packed within 1–2 business days. Delivery usually takes 2–5 business days depending on where you are in South Africa. We’ll send you tracking details as soon as your order is on the way.
What if I don't like the kit?
If your kit is unused and still in its original packaging, you can request a return within 30 days of receiving it. Just email us at hello@goodmud.co.za.
What is the cost of shipping?
Shipping is a flat rate of R100 nationwide
What if my order arrives damaged or faulty?
If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or missing items, please email us at hello@goodmud.co.za within 48 hours of delivery and include photos of the packaging and contents. We’ll sort it out from there.

How do I pay you?
You can pay securely at checkout using the available payment options shown there, including major debit and credit cards and EFT. All payments are processed securely through our trusted payment partners.
Do I get an order confirmation?
Yes. As soon as your order is placed, you’ll receive a confirmation email. If you don’t see it, check your spam folder — and if it’s still missing, just email us.
Kits & Products
How does the clay dry?
Our clay is air-dry, which means no kiln and no firing needed. Shape your piece, leave it out in a dry space, and let it dry naturally. Most pieces dry within 24–72 hours depending on thickness.
Do I have to add a top coat to my piece?
We recommend sealing your piece with the included gloss varnish once it’s fully dry and painted. It helps protect your creation and gives it a finished look.
What air-dry pieces can I make?
Bowls, trinket dishes, candle holders, small planters, sculptural pieces — or something completely your own. You’ll have enough clay for two larger creations or a few smaller ones, plus extra for details and textures.
Can I buy extra clay?
Yes. We offer extra clay packs if you want to keep creating or need a refill.
How long does the clay last in its pouch?
If unopened and sealed properly, the clay can last up to 2 years. Once opened, keep it tightly wrapped and stored in an airtight container to prevent it from drying out. Opened but properly sealed air-dry clay typically lasts for several weeks to 6 months.
What if my clay becomes a little dry or hard?
Lightly mist it with a small amount of water and knead it well. A little water goes a long way and should help bring it back to life.
Safety First
Is our clay non-toxic and food safe?
Our clay is non-toxic and safe for crafting. However, air-dry clay is not food safe or completely waterproof, even when sealed with gloss varnish. We recommend using your creations for decorative purposes only.
Will the paint & top coat wash off surfaces & clothes?
While wet, paint can usually be wiped or washed off surfaces and fabrics. Once dry, it may be more difficult to remove, so we suggest protecting your workspace and wearing something you don’t mind getting messy in.
Can I eat and drink from my creations?
No. Because this is air-dry clay and not kiln-fired ceramic, your pieces are decorative and not suitable for food or drink use.
Is the kit suitable for kids?
Our kits are suitable for ages 3+ with adult supervision. The clay is non-toxic, but small tools and materials are included, so younger children should always be supervised while using the kit.
